Fireflies AI Pricing: Fireflies AI Cost Per Seat and How the AI Credits Work

Fireflies AI costs $10 per seat per month on Pro and $19 on Business when billed annually, or $18 and $29 billed monthly. Enterprise is $39 per seat per month and is sold on annual contracts only. There is also a Free plan. Transcription is never charged in AI credits, but the AI features are: each workspace gets a one-time grant of 20, 30 or 50 AI credits, shared by the whole team, and after that you buy credit packs that renew every month.

Those figures come from fireflies.ai/pricing and from Fireflies' own knowledge base, and the credit rules are where most of what ranks for this search goes wrong. Plenty of reviews still describe "20 AI credits per month". The current credits article says something different: the credits included with your plan are one-time, they do not expire, they are pooled at the team level, and they do not scale with the number of seats. For a team that uses the AI features every day, that grant runs out quickly, and what happens next is the part worth planning for.

How much does Fireflies AI cost?

Four plans, priced per seat. Every active user, admin or member, counts as a billable seat.

Annual billing saves 44 percent on Pro ($10 against $18) and about 34 percent on Business ($19 against $29), which is where the "save up to 44%" on the pricing page comes from. If you are buying for more than 50 people, Fireflies asks you to contact sales for volume pricing.

How much is Fireflies AI per month for a team?

The per-seat price multiplies cleanly, so here is what the list prices come to for common team sizes.

• A five-person team on Business pays $95 a month billed annually ($1,140 a year, charged upfront) or $145 a month on monthly billing.
• A ten-person team on Business pays $190 a month annually ($2,280 a year) or $290 a month monthly.
• A ten-person team on Enterprise pays $390 a month, committed for a year: $4,680.

Those numbers only hold if the team stays inside the included credits, which most active teams will not. That is the next section.

What do Fireflies AI credits cost, and what uses them?

Recording and transcription are not charged in credits, and neither are the templates Fireflies uses in its standard summaries. The credits pay for the features built on top of the transcript. Fireflies' credits article lists AI Skills, the Personal Assistant's Daily Digest and Meeting Prep, soundbites, custom summary sections, Voice Agents, Sales Assist, the Slack Assistant, Autofill CRM for HubSpot and Salesforce, and AskFred during live meetings. It also says credits are "charged per query", with the price depending on how complex the query is, so there is no fixed rate you can multiply.

Once the one-time grant is gone, you buy credit packs. These are subscriptions, not one-off purchases:

Packs are available on paid plans, auto-renew on the interval you chose unless you pause them, and purchased credits that go unused do not carry over to the next cycle. Fireflies' billing terms also say AI credits are non-refundable.

What happens when you run out of Fireflies AI credits?

On a paid plan, Fireflies moves you up automatically. Its billing FAQ says that if paid users run out of credits before their next cycle, Fireflies subscribes them to the next higher AI credits tier, with further increases possible if usage continues. The setting reads "Once exhausted, auto-subscribe to 50 credits at $5/month", and it steps up from there.

For most teams this is a small amount of money. The risk is visibility, not size. Credits come from one team pool, the dashboard that shows AI credit usage is an Enterprise-only feature, and the Personal Assistant features run on a schedule. So on Pro or Business you can end up paying for a larger credit tier without being able to see which colleague or which feature used it. If you want a fixed bill, check the auto-subscribe setting on day one, decide which AI features your team actually needs, and turn off the scheduled ones nobody reads.

Here is a realistic example. A five-person sales team on Business annual pays $95 a month. If they use Autofill CRM after every call and ask AskFred questions in live meetings, the 30 included credits will not last the first month. If they settle on the 1,000-credit pack at $72 a month billed annually, the real bill is about $167 a month, 76 percent above the headline figure. Your number will be different because the rate changes with each query, but plan on a pack from the start if the AI features are why you are buying.

Is Fireflies AI free?

There is a genuine Free plan, and for occasional use it is good. It records audio from Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams for meetings up to two hours, with limited AI summaries, 400 minutes of storage and the one-time 20 credits. It does not capture video. The pricing page says the 400 minutes are per team, while the help center describes them as per user. Either way, 400 minutes is about seven hours of meetings before older recordings have to go.

One change matters if you sign up now. For accounts created on or after September 1, 2026, unlimited transcription on Free depends on auto-join. With auto-join off, Free defaults to three meeting transcriptions. The option to invite Fireflies only when you add its bot address to a meeting does not count toward unlimited transcription either. Most of the "Fireflies is free forever" advice online was written before this change.

Which Fireflies features are on which plan?

• Pro adds video capture at 720p, downloads, AI Skills and apps, speaker talk-time, topic trackers and sentiment. Saving meeting transcripts to Salesforce needs Pro or higher.
• Business adds conversation intelligence, team insights for admins, multi-language mode, private channels, integration rules, priority support and unlimited storage. API limits rise from 50 requests a day on Free and Pro to 60 requests a minute.
• Enterprise adds single sign-on, SCIM, HIPAA, private storage, custom data retention, a transcript-only mode, audit logs, the AI credit usage dashboard, 1080p video and payment by invoice. A dedicated account manager needs 20 or more seats.

Is Fireflies AI HIPAA compliant?

Only on Enterprise. Fireflies lists HIPAA as an Enterprise feature, and activating it requires a signed business associate agreement. That puts a ten-seat medical or dental practice at $4,680 a year at minimum before any credit packs, and Pro or Business cannot be used to record meetings that include protected health information. The billing rules to know before you add your team

• A seat is created the moment you add a teammate, and removing that person later does not refund the current cycle. You can raise the seat count but not lower it directly; you reduce it by removing members.
• The 7-day trial is of the Business plan and needs a card. It charges automatically unless you cancel, and any teammates you invited during the trial are billed as seats when it ends.
• Fireflies' refund answers disagree with each other. An older refund policy article allows a full refund within 7 days on monthly plans (3 meetings or fewer) and on annual plans (20 meetings or fewer). A newer billing article says Fireflies does not offer refunds on subscriptions or AI credit purchases. Assume the purchase is final unless support confirms otherwise in writing.
• Cancelling is under Settings, then Account, then Subscriptions. You drop to Free at the end of the cycle and keep your data within the Free plan's limits.

Is Fireflies AI worth it?

For transcription and searchable recordings, yes, and it is one of the cheapest ways to get them: $10 a seat on Pro annual is hard to beat. Business at $19 is worth it for sales and customer teams who will use conversation intelligence and the CRM integrations, provided they budget a credit pack alongside the seats. For light users the Free plan is enough, now that you know about the auto-join condition.

Fireflies records the calls and scores them; it does not fill your calendar with calls to begin with. Sales teams short on meetings often pair a notetaker with an AI sales rep that researches accounts and writes the outreach, and use the notetaker to learn from the calls that result.

Fireflies is the wrong buy when the transcript is not where the work ends. A notetaker gives you a summary and a list of action items. Somebody still has to send the recap, book the follow-up meeting, file the proposal and chase the person who owes you a signature. If that part is what eats your week, you want an assistant that does the work after the meeting, not a fifth way to read the notes.

When a flat-priced assistant is the better buy

Officeagent writes up the meeting with a summary, decisions and action items, then does the follow-through: it drafts the recap email, books the next meeting, files the documents and turns each action item into a tracked task that it keeps chasing until it is closed. Every outgoing email and invite waits for one-click approval. It costs $149 a month for one person or $399 for an office of up to ten, about 20 percent less yearly, with 300 or 2,000 agent actions a month counted only when you approve finished work.
