Claude Team costs $25 per member a month billed monthly or $20 billed annually for a Standard seat, and $125 a month or $100 billed annually for a Premium seat. A Team workspace needs at least two members and holds up to 150, and Standard and Premium seats can be mixed. Every seat includes Claude Code. Above 150 people, or when you need SCIM and audit logs, you move to Enterprise, which Anthropic now prices as a $20 seat plus usage billed at API rates.
Those figures come from Anthropic's own pricing page and its help center, and they are the same per-seat prices as ChatGPT Business. That makes the real buying decisions the ones below: how many Premium seats you actually need, whether to pay yearly, and whether a chat assistant is the tool for the job you are trying to get off your team's plate.
How much does Claude Team cost per user?
Claude Team is billed per member, and each member gets a seat type. Here is the full price list, alongside the individual plans people usually compare it with.
| Plan or seat | Billed annually | Billed monthly | Who it is for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pro | $17 a month ($200 up front) | $20 | One person, personal account |
| Max | From $100 | From $100 | One heavy user, 5x or 20x Pro usage |
| Team, Standard seat | $20 per member | $25 per member | Most staff in a company workspace |
| Team, Premium seat | $100 per member | $125 per member | Heavy users, 5x Standard usage |
| Enterprise | $20 per seat plus usage at API rates | Annual only | Larger organizations, SCIM, audit logs |
Annual billing takes 20 percent off both Team seat types, which is $60 per Standard member and $300 per Premium member over a year. If your headcount is stable, pay yearly.
What is the difference between Claude Team Standard and Premium seats?
Usage. Both seat types get the same product, and the Premium seat gets five times as much of it. Anthropic's help center puts it in terms of the Pro plan: a Standard seat carries about 1.25 times Pro usage and a Premium seat about 6.25 times. Limits are per member, not pooled across the team, and they reset on a fixed weekly schedule.
That per-member detail is the one buyers miss. A light user on Standard does not donate spare capacity to the developer who keeps hitting the cap. So the right pattern for most offices is Standard for nearly everyone and Premium for the one or two people who spend the day in Claude Code or run long research sessions. Admins can switch a member's seat type from the Members settings, and an upgrade from Standard to Premium is prorated and charged immediately for the difference.
What a team pays for Claude Team in a year
Per-seat prices are what the vendor shows. The annual total is what the budget owner signs. A Standard member costs $240 a year on annual billing or $300 paying monthly, and a Premium member costs $1,200 or $1,500.
| Members | All Standard, yearly | All Standard, monthly | Mixed (Premium for 1 in 5), yearly | All Premium, yearly |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2 | $480 | $600 | $1,440 (1 + 1) | $2,400 |
| 5 | $1,200 | $1,500 | $2,160 (4 + 1) | $6,000 |
| 10 | $2,400 | $3,000 | $4,320 (8 + 2) | $12,000 |
| 25 | $6,000 | $7,500 | $10,800 (20 + 5) | $30,000 |
| 50 | $12,000 | $15,000 | $21,600 (40 + 10) | $60,000 |
| 150 (Team maximum) | $36,000 | $45,000 | $64,800 (120 + 30) | $180,000 |
The middle column is the realistic one for a mixed office. Putting a whole ten-person team on Premium costs $12,000 a year; giving Premium to the two people who need it costs $4,320. New seats added mid-term are prorated to your billing cycle and charged at once, so you can start small and add people as usage proves out.
What is included in Claude for Business?
"Claude for Business" is how many people search for the Team plan, and the plan includes more than chat. Every seat gets Claude Code and Claude Cowork, the Design, Slides and Docs tools, and enterprise search across connected sources. The connectors cover Google Drive, Gmail, Google Calendar, GitHub, Microsoft 365 and Slack, so Claude can pull context from your documents, email and calendars when someone asks it a question.
On the admin side you get single sign-on with domain capture, just-in-time provisioning, role-based permissions and central billing. Only Owners and Primary Owners can buy seats; Admins can reassign seat types. Anthropic does not train its models on Team or Enterprise conversations by default, unless a member explicitly opts in or sends feedback.
Connectors are worth a moment of thought before you switch them on for everyone. Once an assistant can read a shared inbox and act inside your tools, the content of an incoming email becomes something it reads and may follow, and a few security teams now treat guarding AI agents against prompt injection and limiting which tools they can reach as a separate control rather than a setting. For most small offices, starting with connectors limited to the people who need them is enough.
How much does Claude Enterprise cost?
Claude Enterprise is priced differently from Team. The pricing page lists it as a seat price plus usage: $20 per seat a month, billed annually, with usage charged on top at API rates. Enterprise adds SCIM, audit logs, fine-grained role-based permissions and a HIPAA-ready option.
The seat price matches a Team Standard seat, which can make Enterprise look cheaper than it is. With Team, $20 buys a seat with an included allowance. With Enterprise, $20 buys access and the work itself is metered, so the annual bill depends on how much your people use it. Ask for a usage estimate built from your Team workspace's real activity before comparing the two on price.
Is Claude Team worth it for a small business?
For writing, editing, research and long-document work, yes. Claude is particularly good with long contracts, reports and policies, and at $20 a member on annual billing it is priced exactly like ChatGPT Business. If you are choosing between the two, our ChatGPT Business pricing breakdown uses the same team sizes so you can set the totals side by side. Trial both on your own documents and pick the one whose drafts need less editing.
Where a chat assistant is a weaker buy is the administrative work around the inbox and the calendar. Claude can read Gmail and Google Calendar when you ask it something. It is built around a person opening it and giving it a task. It does not sit on the shared inbox, notice that a client wants to move Thursday's call, offer times that fit three calendars, send the invite once you agree, write the recap afterward and chase the reply that never came.
That standing loop is what OfficeAgent is built for. It drafts replies in Gmail or Outlook, schedules against your real calendar, files attachments and keeps every follow-up moving until the thread closes, and nothing goes out until a person approves it. It costs $149 a month for one person or $399 a month for an office of up to ten people, and billing yearly halves both ($888 and $2,388 a year). Plenty of offices run both: Claude for thinking and writing, an assistant for the admin.

How to buy Claude Team without overpaying
- Start on Standard for everyone. Watch who hits the weekly limit in the first month, then upgrade only those members to Premium.
- Pay yearly once headcount is settled. It saves $60 per Standard member and $300 per Premium member a year.
- Do not buy Premium for Claude Code alone. Code is included on Standard seats; Premium buys more usage, not access.
- Check the 150-member ceiling early. A company approaching it should ask for an Enterprise usage estimate before renewal, not after.
- Price the admin work separately. If the reason you are buying is that email and scheduling eat your team's day, compare a seat of Claude with an AI assistant built for small business admin before adding more seats.
