tl;dv costs $18 per seat a month on Pro and $29 per seat on Business when billed annually, or $29 and $39 billed monthly. There is a Free plan with unlimited recordings and transcripts but AI notes on only 10 meetings, and Enterprise is priced on request. You only pay for the workspace members you put on a paid plan, so a team can mix free and paid seats.

Those figures come from tl;dv's own pricing page, read with the billing toggle set each way. They are worth stating plainly because a lot of the pages ranking for this search still quote an older Business price of $59 a seat billed annually and $98 monthly. The vendor page no longer shows those numbers. If you are budgeting a rollout, use the ones below, then check the page yourself on the day you buy.

How much does tl;dv cost?

Four plans, priced per seat per month in US dollars. The annual discount is different on each paid plan, which matters more than the headline "up to 40% off" suggests.

PlanBilled annuallyBilled monthlyAI meeting notesAsk AIWeekly web recordings
Free$0$010 meetings10 queries in total40
Pro$18$29UnlimitedUnlimited on one meeting, 5 queries across meetings80
Business$29$39UnlimitedUnlimited, including across meetings120
EnterpriseCustomCustomUnlimitedUnlimited500

Every plan, Free included, records an unlimited number of meetings with unlimited viewers and storage, transcribes in more than 30 languages, and caps a single recording at three hours. Mobile recording is unlimited on every plan. The weekly web recording capacity in the last column is the ceiling a heavy user can actually hit, so check it against your calendar before assuming "unlimited" means unlimited.

Is tl;dv free?

Yes, tl;dv has a permanent free plan with no card required, and it is more generous on recording than most notetakers. Where it gets tight is the AI. Free includes AI notes on 10 meetings and 10 Ask AI queries, and recordings on the Free plan are kept for up to three months. For one person testing whether the summaries are good enough, that is plenty. For anyone who spends a normal week in meetings, 10 AI-summarized meetings is about two weeks of use, and the three-month retention means the archive you are building quietly expires.

So treat Free as a trial for the AI features and a lasting plan only for recording. tl;dv also says you can trial the paid features before committing, with no obligation to continue once the trial ends.

Pro or Business, which tl;dv plan do you need?

Pro is the plan for individuals and small teams who want every meeting summarized. It removes the AI limits on single meetings and adds premium transcription quality, multi-language meetings, custom note templates, action item assignment, the follow-up email drafter, global transcript search, a custom bot appearance, unlimited uploads, and access to the API, webhooks and MCP server.

Business is where tl;dv becomes a sales and customer-success tool rather than a notetaker. It adds unlimited multi-meeting AI insights, scheduled AI reports, playbook monitoring, AI objection handling, custom vocabulary, and team-wide integrations and automations, and it is the plan tl;dv marks with "no usage-based AI fees".

The deciding question is simple. Do you need to ask questions across many meetings at once, such as "what objections did prospects raise about pricing this quarter"? Pro allows only 5 of those cross-meeting queries, so a manager reviewing a team's calls will hit the wall quickly. If you only need each meeting summarized and searchable, Pro is enough, and paying for Business is wasted money.

What does tl;dv cost for a team?

Because pricing is per seat with no published volume break below Enterprise, team cost is straight multiplication. Here is the yearly total at common team sizes.

SeatsPro, annualPro, monthlyBusiness, annualBusiness, monthly
1$216$348$348$468
5$1,080$1,740$1,740$2,340
10$2,160$3,480$3,480$4,680
25$5,400$8,700$8,700$11,700

Notice that Business billed annually costs exactly the same as Pro billed monthly, $348 a seat a year. If you were going to pay monthly for Pro because you are unsure about committing, the same money on an annual contract buys you Business. That is the single most useful thing to know before you pick a plan.

Is the tl;dv annual discount really 40%?

Not quite. The toggle reads "up to 40% off", and the real figures are close but below it. Pro drops from $29 to $18, and 18 divided by 29 is 0.62, so the saving is 38%. Business drops from $39 to $29, and 29 divided by 39 is 0.74, a saving of 26%. The bigger discount sits on Pro, which is why Pro monthly is the worst value on the page and Pro annual is among the cheapest entry points in the category.

What is counted as a seat in tl;dv?

tl;dv counts any teammate you add to your workspace as a seat, but you only pay for members who are on a paid plan. You can have as many Free and Pro or Business members in one workspace as you like. That is friendlier than tools that force every license in a workspace onto the same tier, and it means you can put the account executives on Business, the rest of the team on Pro, and occasional attendees on Free.

To buy for a team, you purchase your own seat first and then add licenses for colleagues. Enterprise customers can use SCIM provisioning to assign seats automatically as people join, and Enterprise is also the only plan where tl;dv offers usage-based pricing instead of per-seat pricing. Enterprise adds custom SSO, privately hosted AI, organization activity logs and a dedicated success manager.

How does tl;dv pricing compare with Otter, Fireflies, Fathom and Read AI?

On the entry paid tier, tl;dv Pro at $18 a seat billed annually sits at the upper end of the range. Here is the like-for-like comparison, each figure from the vendor's own pricing page.

ToolEntry paid plan, annualTeam or business plan, annualFree plan
tl;dvPro $18Business $29Unlimited recording, AI notes on 10 meetings
Otter.aiPro $8.33Business $19.99300 minutes a month, 30-minute meeting cap
FirefliesPro $10Business $19Unlimited transcription, no video, 400 storage minutes per team
FathomPremium $16Team $15 (2 seats minimum), Business $25Unlimited recordings and summaries
Read AIPro $15Enterprise $22.505 meetings a month

Two things stand out. First, tl;dv's Free plan is one of the best in the group for pure recording, and one of the tighter ones for AI. Second, tl;dv Business at $29 is the priciest team tier here, and what you pay for is the sales layer: playbook monitoring, objection handling and cross-meeting reports. If your reps' problem is getting the first conversation at all rather than coaching the ones they already have, an AI that makes cold calls, qualifies leads and books meetings sits earlier in that funnel than any call recorder. For the wider field, our best AI meeting assistant roundup ranks the category by buyer, and the Fireflies vs Otter vs Fathom comparison covers the three tools tl;dv is most often weighed against. The detailed Otter pricing and Read AI pricing breakdowns do the same team math as this page.

Is tl;dv worth paying for?

tl;dv is worth paying for if your team records many external calls on Google Meet, Zoom or Microsoft Teams and wants searchable summaries synced to a CRM. Pro annual at $18 is fair value for that. Business is worth it only for a sales or customer-success leader who will actually use cross-meeting insights and playbook scoring every week, because that is where the extra $11 a seat goes.

It is not worth paying for if the recording was never your bottleneck. A notetaker, however good, ends at the notes. The client still needs the recap email, the next meeting still needs booking across three calendars, and someone still has to chase the person who went quiet. If that admin after the call is what eats your week, a better transcript will not fix it.

What tl;dv does not do after the meeting

tl;dv drafts a follow-up email for you to send and pushes notes and fields into your CRM. It does not send anything on its own, book the next meeting, or keep chasing an unanswered thread. That is the work OfficeAgent is built for. It writes the meeting summary with action items, drafts the recap to attendees, proposes and books the next meeting, and follows up until someone replies, with one click of human approval before anything goes out. Plenty of teams run a notetaker for the record and an assistant for the follow-through, and the two do not overlap much.

OfficeAgent is priced per office rather than per seat: $149 a month for one person, or $399 a month for up to ten people, and billing yearly brings those to $888 and $2,388 a year. For a ten-person team, that is less than tl;dv Business on monthly billing, and it covers the scheduling, drafting and chasing a notetaker leaves behind. See our pricing for the plan limits, or try it on a real task in the box above.
